A message from Stacie Pedersen:

Dear Valued Client,

I wanted to write to you personally to share an important update about Smart Insurance Agency.

My father, Rick Smart, founded Smart Insurance Agency in 2014. He built this agency around relationships, trust, and doing what was right for his clients—values he lived by every day. After a courageous two-year battle with illness, my dad passed away on January 21, 2025.

Since his passing, my family and I have been focused on one guiding question: how do we protect what he built and ensure the clients he cared so deeply about have a stable future?

With that responsibility in mind, Smart Insurance Agency has been acquired by Main Street Insurance Group, a respected, North Carolina-based independent insurance firm that shares my father’s commitment to personal service, integrity, and long-term relationships. This decision was made thoughtfully and in close partnership with my mother, Roxie, and my brothers, Bradley and Andy, to ensure the future of the agency reflects my dad’s wishes and values.

What This Means for You

For now, nothing changes in how you reach us—we’re here and ready to serve you:

  • Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM (closed 12:30 – 1:30 lunch)

  • I will continue working closely with clients and am now part of the Main Street team to help ensure this transition is handled with care and consistency.

This was not an easy decision—but it was the right one. My family and I believe this partnership allows our team to continue serving you in the way my father intended, while providing the stability and support needed for the future.
